“From seed to cup.” Cartel Coffee Labs offers that unique experience we mentioned earlier about independent coffee shops. With 6 locations in the Phoenix area, this cafe is loved by Phoenician’s. With four different brewing methods, even the pickiest coffee snob has a choice. Also grab some of their delicious pastries when you visit. If you find a beer you’re passionate about, you can register online and have the beans delivered right to your doorstep.
Songbird Coffee and Tea House
For our coffee lovers who dabble in the art of tea, this is your place. âLocally sourced, made with love. »Located on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix. With plenty of espresso options and delicious cold draft brews, there should be options for every mood. Their tea menu is also impressive, including over 25 loose leaf teas. Take their beans home or enjoy a dinner in the experience. Songbird also offers its customers fresh baking options.

Located north 32sd street in the Arcadia district, Provision Coffee offers a delicious experience. Visit with friends and enjoy different options of unique coffee, teas, cocktails and snacks. This cafe is gorgeous and the drinks are what we were talking about when we mentioned Instagram friendly. Some of the unique coffee blends include the Prickly Pear Blend and the Ponderosa Blend.
Peixoto coffee
Located in downtown Chandler, the cafe here has been perfected by years of family farming. These beans are grown on Peixoto farms in Brazil. Enjoy the comfortable and modern shop with friends or a friendly stranger. This company is proud of its community. I would recommend trying a Nitro Float for a crisp, creamy coffee experience. In summer, you can even drink your latte from a coconut!
Dark room cafe
The option of vegan lists is a major force to be reckoned with. Located in Phoenix on 7e Ave and Osborn, this cafe is a favorite among locals. With a web page that could be mistaken for modern art, this shop has a special menu filled with delicious vegan options. Try a vegan cinnamon roll, macaroon, or cookie. Cafe Lola
Now offering two locations in Phoenix. One on the north 3e Avenue in the city center, and the other brand new location in the Arcadia district. Lola is the perfect example of an independent café. His family has been owned and operated since owner Daniel Wayne started with his Espresso Cart downtown. For 10 years now, Lola has been providing a place for the community to come together and enjoy a cup of coffee. Daniel still works behind the bar every day, striving to make the perfect espresso.

Lux has three different locations, North Central Ave, Scottsdale, and Flagstaff, and is one of Arizona’s most iconic independent cafes. With coffee beans grown in Ethiopia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Panama, Sumatra, and Brazil, even the most discerning coffee drinker should find something they love. Xanadu Cafe
Xanadu started out as a distribution company that dealt with specialty cafes, restaurants, offices, bars, etc. Recently, Xanadu opened its own cafe in the Garfield neighborhood of downtown Phoenix. Although the store has only been around for 2020, the company has been making delicious coffee shops for over 12 years.
With interesting drinks such as a tonic prickly pear espresso, grapefruit and cucumber latte, and mushroom based coffee, Xanadu is sure to provide a unique experience.

Gold Bar Espresso is located in Tempe. This shop has been independently owned and operated since 1994. It is a great place to listen to live jazz music, study or just have a coffee with your friends. Enjoy a range of espresso drinks, chai, hot chocolate and more. His raspberry chai is a unique but delicious way to enjoy chai tea.
Creamy coffee
Located on Central Ave north of Camelback inside the modern design store “For the People”. Kream is a modern coffee paradise. The beans are of local and national origin.
