TRIANGLE – Many tech and life science events and program deadlines will take place in January. Several events will be held in person or in a hybrid format, and many remain virtual or conducted online.

Thanks to WRAL TechWire’s ongoing work on keeping up with important events and deadlines unfolding in North Carolina, here’s a look at what to expect in January 2022:

Code for Durham: Civic Hacking Session

January 4, 6-7:30 p.m. (online)

Code for Durham brings together technologists, designers, developers, data scientists, mappers and activists to collaborate on civic technology projects. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month.

Techies Raleigh Downtown Happy Hour

January 4, 5 to 7 p.m. @Lynnwood Brewing Concern

The Downtown Techies Happy Hour event series returns at Lynnwood Brewing Concern in Raleigh. Join us to network with peers.

Raleigh Chamber 2022 launch

January 4, 2 p.m.-6 p.m. @Duke Energy Performing Arts Center

Raleigh Chamber is hosting an event covering next year’s trends and forecasts covering the economy, commercial real estate, economic development, talent and regional demographics. A networking reception will follow.

At NC State’s Make-A-Thon, held Jan. 27-30, student teams will be tasked with creating the best solution to a sustainability challenge. Then they will present their ideas to the local judges for a chance to win $ 500 to $ 2,000 in prizes. Registration closes on January 16.

NC TECH Government Supplier Network

January 18, 3 p.m.-4 p.m. (online)

NC TECH’s Government Vendor Network is a forum for member companies interested in doing business with state government.

Registration deadline: 2022 UNC Innovation Pilot Awards

This annual program provides internal pilot funding to researchers and research teams at UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine for innovations in healthcare. Up to four prizes worth up to $ 50,000 each will be announced in March.
