HENDERSON, Tenn. – A local café gives back to members of its community.
Besso’s Coffee has created a community fund to help people with unexpected needs across Chester County.
Owner Tim West says the idea originated before Besso’s was built.
“It was an integral part of it. We wanted to showcase Henderson’s already good nature and the beautiful and wonderful place that it is as a community. So we thought about creating this community fund, where we could both fundraise and people could donate so good things could be done, ”West said.
West says the funds raised will be used to help people with various types of needs.
“People who have difficulties or challenges in life, whether financially, spiritually or emotionally, mentally. We are looking for opportunities to empower people or inspire people to do good things, ”West said.
Besso’s has partnered with Eagles’ Edge, a Chester County High School club that is already working to reduce need within their community.
With the donated funds, Besso’s offers the students gift cards to also give to the school service staff.
“I think it’s a really good way for us to partner with them, because that way we can give gift cards and different things, and we can give them out through our kindness program,” Aja said. Stovall, member of Eagles’ Edge. . “With this we organize different days, such as teacher appreciation, bus driver appreciation, janitor appreciation, and we are able to give back to those people who help us so much in our all of our lives. days. “
Stovall says it feels good to give back.
“I’ve grown up in Henderson my whole life, it’s a very generous community,” said Stovall. “It makes me so good to be able to give to everyone and just be able to participate in things like this.”
West says there are lots of ways to donate, like buying t-shirts and stickers.
“They can donate directly to the fund when they’re here in the cafe. They can also do this by purchasing some of our community fund shirts. I wear one. We have a few different shirts that when we sell them we use those funds to finance the community fund, ”he said.
If you would like to donate to the fund by purchasing a drink from Besso, just be sure to mention this at checkout.
