ABU DHABI, September 19, 2021 (WAM) – The Zayed Higher Organization for Determined Persons (ZHO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) to train determined individuals in the field of specialty coffee in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Abdullah Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Secretary General of ZHO, and Yannis Apostolopoulos, Managing Director of SCA signed the Memorandum of Understanding in a virtual ceremony.

Under the terms of the MoU, the two entities will strive to establish the Specialty Coffee Association’s first premier training campus exclusively for specified individuals at the organization’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The parties will collaborate further on a path for team members within ZHO to become Certified SCA Trainers (ASTs). These trainers will use the SCA Certified Campus to train purposeful individuals using SCA’s internationally recognized Coffee Skills Program.

To further advocate for the accessibility of coffee skills training, ZHO will create content to share with the SCA network of certified trainers regarding best practices when training specific individuals.

Al Humaidan expressed pride in the efforts and abilities of determined people, and their willingness to take a serious step towards proving their ability to enable them to enter and compete in the labor market and enhance their presence. in various projects.

He added, “Through this collaboration, the determined people working at the Bee Cafe will be able to demonstrate their abilities and skills in coffee management and in preparing and serving delicious coffee, through the specialized training they provide. will receive SCA trainers. We are confident that through SCA courses our determined people will be ready to step into this field and actively work to achieve their goals. “

Al Humaidan praised the role of the SCA in providing support and guidance in this effort to develop people determined to work in the specialty coffee industry.

On his part, Apostolopoulos said, “We are delighted to partner with ZHO to bring a new Premier training campus to the coffee community in Abu Dhabi, in particular one created to create opportunities for determined people.

“SCA’s internationally recognized certification programs are known throughout the industry as fit for purpose, accessible and the first choice of coffee professionals. We are delighted to be able to work with the ZHO team to bring these programs to determined people. in Abu Dhabi and supporting learners of all types at every stage of their careers in the coffee industry. “

SCA is a non-profit, membership-based organization that represents thousands of coffee professionals, from producers to baristas around the world.
