Foxtail Coffee Co., based in Winter Park, is opening two stores in Jacksonville.

This will be the East San Marco Mall at 2039 Hendricks Ave. and Ponte Vedra Beach, said franchise owner Ty Claggett.

Regency Centers Corp. announced the location of San Marco on November 1.

“Foxtail Coffee is one of the best regional concepts when it comes to quality and product,” Eric Apple, leasing agent at Regency Centers, said in a statement.

Foxtail Coffee Co. has 26 branches, most of them in Central Florida.

“This store will be their first expansion in Jacksonville, and we were delighted that they chose East San Marco to be a key part of their success here. They will be a real added value for the community and the center’s merchandising mix. “

“We plan to introduce several Foxtail locations in Northeast Florida over the next several years,” Northeast Florida franchise owners Claggett and Doug Tutwiler said in a statement.

Foxtail Coffee Co. was founded by Alex Tchekmeian and Iain Yeakle, friends who met as kindergarteners in South Florida, according to the company’s website.

It all started in 2016 at the 70-year-old State Collision Building in Winter Park. There they began roasting coffee for sale to private customers and business accounts. An on-site cafe has also been built.

The company sells cold coffee as well as home brewers and accessories.

The East San Marco development at Hendricks Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard will be anchored by Publix.

The website features 26 Foxtail Coffee locations, most of them in Central Florida.

There are six varieties of roasted coffee to buy from the website. The company uses Arabica coffee beans, originating in Yemen and Ethiopia, but cultivated in several countries around the world.

The company claims that the beans it purchases are grown by farmers who respect the environment and pay fair wages.

Regency Centers Corp. opened the East San Marco Mall on February 16, 2021, after 20 years of planning, an economic downturn and changes in partnership.

Its pillar will be a 60,000 square foot Publix Supermarkets Inc. store. Orange Theory Fitness has been announced as one of its first tenants.

Construction is expected to be completed in mid-2022.
