Musso & Frank is growing

One of LA’s oldest restaurants expanded its dining room for the first time since 1955. The Musso & Frank Grill took over two adjacent retail spaces to add three private dining rooms, one of which is one wine room and the other can be divided into two bedrooms. The bar and restaurant, which opened in 1919, is one of Hollywood’s most iconic dining destinations. Like with Musso’s Recent COVID-19 Pivots and Additions, the management team have worked to maintain the Old Hollywood aesthetic (expansion details include oak panels and hand-painted murals). One of the new rooms can accommodate six to eight people, while the other three areas can accommodate up to 50 people, and all four can be accessed through the restaurant’s existing dining room or a new dedicated entrance to the market. ‘Hollywood Boulevard by a red carpet. .

Goop Kitchen heads for the valley

Now Goop Kitchen is opening a second outpost, in Studio City, delivering to areas such as Burbank and North Hollywood. Kim Floresca, former executive sous chef at Napa Valley restaurant in Meadowood, oversees the menu.

The guest room is coming back

In 2020, the Hollywood Roosevelt temporarily closed the Spare Room due to the pandemic, but reinvented the cocktail bar and bowling combination in May 2021 as an entirely exterior (and more tropical) pop-up from spring to autumn. On Thursday, the Spare Room will reopen with a new bar manager and a new cocktail program. Tess Anne Sawyer – formerly of Mother’s Ruin, The Up & Up and others in New York City – now leads the bar team, adding a new emphasis on highballs with ice infused as well as cocktails inspired by the Sawyer’s Korean heirloom (including a twist with chili sesame oil and a kimchi-tinted martini). Open Wednesday to Sunday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

“Dinner to help”

The California Restaurant Foundation, a nonprofit and advocacy group associated with the California Restaurant Assn., Has launched its second annual statewide month-long campaign to engage Californians dining out and supporting the hospitality industry during the pandemic. The Grateful Table Dine Out program runs through November and encourages donations to the Restaurants Care Relief Fund; last year’s event raised over $ 62,000 for restaurant workers in need. This year, attendees can follow and tag Restaurants Care (@restaurantscare) on Instagram and Twitter for a weekly chance to win a $ 200 gift card to a restaurant of their choice by commenting on where and with which friend they would like to dine.
