Simplified: Two brothers bring freshly roasted coffee and breakfast food to Lennox with a new food truck, Maple Drip.
Why is this important
- It’s rare to see a coffee owner roasting his own beans in a town the size of Lennox, said Ryan Solberg, economic development specialist at the Sioux Metro Growth Alliance.
- Jarren Saxon – who founded the company with his brother Devin Saxon – decided to return to his country of origin from South Dakota earlier this year, leaving a job in Reno, Nevada as a third-party supplier for Tesla.
- The maple drip was inspired by a cafe food truck in Reno, said Jarren Saxon, and got to know the owners, who helped plant the seeds for his eventual business. And although his brother is not a coffee drinker, he had the experience of the food industry to be the perfect partner.
“There are a bunch of moving parts that just clicked into place,” said Jarren Saxon.
Coffee, of course.
There is also a variety of espresso drinks including slats and americanos.
Maple Drip also some breakfast items, including baked goods and Devin Saxon’s maple-smoked pork in the signature breakfast sandwich.
Jarren Saxon said the plan is to expand the baked goods available after Thanksgiving, as well as add tea options.
“My brother has a really great menu,” he said. “We are looking to get into brunches when we can recruit labor.”
Maple dripping opened less than two weeks ago, and the quick response has been excellent, said Jarren Saxon.
“It’s all the credit of the community,” he said. “Apparently they needed coffee for a while, and we brought them one. And they give us all the support they can.
